Vitamin depletion?

by JackieCalifornia, Nov 04, 2008 01:21PM
Has anyone else had a problem with your vitamins and minerals (potassium, magnesium) being depleted or used up due to the Lyme and/or the medications?

I have read a bit about long-term antibiotics using up the body's stores, and also that the Lyme critters use magnesium to reproduce, thus leading to a shortage in the body.

I've started taking vitamin and mineral supplements and so far it's helping, but my doctor, who is very knowledgeable about Lyme, doesn't think vitamin depletion happens.

Any thoughts out there?

Thanks --

I think B12 has helped me but am not totally sure -- could be a combination of the antibiotics.
