Hi guys. I have been all over the boards and am not sure where I belong. I will try to make this short. For 5 months I have had migratory toothache type pains in my body, mainly joints. They are deep pains that will hit one area for anywhere from a minute to hours, go away and hit the spot again hours later or move to another body part. The pains started like this at onset--meaning they started pretty much by jumping all around my body. A couple days after onset my foot felt like it was vibrating, on and off. About a wk later I noticed EXTREME joint cracking, I counted 15 times in one minute, or for example everytime I stand up or sit down my pelvis and hips crack, when I roll over at night my shoulders crack, often times the same joint cracks several times in one minute. The only thing that is somewhat new is for 3 months I have had non stop muscle fascilations all over my body. I feel like a popcorn machine. On a side note I did develop GERD 1.5 yrs ago out of the blue that wont go away, and I do get heat rashes on my hands when I am in the sun too long. My hair seems to be thinning and my eye lashes come out often. I just found out I have stenosis in my neck. For yrs I have been getting deep pains on and off to the left of my belly button-have had a scope and usounds but nothing found.

I have had loads of blood work, a full body bone scan (the pains were so deep I thought for sure bone cancer), MRI of brain and spine showed no lesions or anything of that nature.

Does this sound like lupus? My blood work has been fine but I feel like something is attacking my joints due to these pains and awful cracking noises.

It does sound like Lupus, but could also be a medication reaction, or a vitamin toxicity or deficiency.  If your blood tests are coming back normal (I'm assuming for poisoning and lupus checks), ask for a referral to a rheumatologist for "specialists" blood tests.  I had the pain in my muscles and bones and sometimes my fingers felt like they were broken, and sometimes my bones felt FROZEN, they hurt soooo bad.  Doc put me on Plaquenil and it took the pain away almost 90%.  It didn't take the heat out of my joints (which I didn't even notice) so doc also put me on methotrexate (chemo), and I feel better.  Even if they can't find out what's wrong, ask if you can try plaquenil.  If it helps, that's all you need!
