does anyone get weird head feelings or pressure from tmj ?

by tlcha, Nov 05, 2008 09:05AM
I have been trying to figure out if this pressure feeling one one side of my head into my ear is from tmj or not. I also get a twingy head pain on same side in the temple when I bend over. I also always have tight jaws. Does anyone have this going on ? I don't know If I should get an MRI or see a neurologist or tmj dentist.

Hi there,

I have had it all really, and yes it effects all those areas. Sounds to me like its both nerves and muscles.  You may need to go to a neurologist, just to rule stuff out, and and ENT.  ENT are the ones the recognise this disorder.  THen he will send you to a maxillofacial surgeon, but first try a dentist that specializes in TMJ-TMD.  That is always the way to start, but find someone that has years of experience.  Hope this helps.
