What's happening with my hands?

by rebldr, Nov 06, 2008 05:03PM
Hi.  I'm 56 and I've had Type 1 diabetes for 40 years.  For the past week, when I wake up in the morning both my hands and sometimes my forearms are numb.  There is a slight tingling and it is really uncomfortable.  I haven't had any real problems with neuropathy, but I can't figure out what's going on here.  Does anyone have knowledge or experience with this problem?  Thank you for your help.

Hello,
It is poisble that you have deveoped a diabetic neuropathy after having had the disease for so long. But there are other causes for bilateral neuropathies so I think it best that you have a good check up with your doctor soon.
Take care.
