crohn's holistic doctor

by Okuno, Nov 06, 2008 09:02PM
My daughter was recently diagnosed with Crohn's Disease and she is scheduled for surgery in the next two weeks. She is barely coping and we are finding ways to help her  get back on her feet. I found this website of a homeopathy doctor about an alternative treatment to crohn's which does not require steroids, his website is
http://www.crohnswholistic.com

I am quite apprehensive about taking the plunge and making my daughter  go to this homeopathy doctor, his name s Dr. Namaya. But we are doing everything we can and willing to try anything that promises even the smallest glimmer of hope for her  condition.
Has anyone here tried homeopathy to treat crohn's? Was it successful? Any help and/or suggestion would be greatly appreciated. Thank you for taking the time to read this.

As far as I am aware, homeopathy will not bring Crohn's into remission. There are other drugs besides steroids to bring about remission, although there can be serious side effects.  I self inject 25 mg of methotrexate (a cytotoxic immuno-suppressant drug) weekly, and this has helped enormously.I was on prednisone steroids for some 30 yrs, but they have caused osteopenia of my bones and gastros these days do not prescribe steroids for long periods because of the side effects.  I would take the advice of the gastroenterologist on what medications will best suit your daughter.

Complementary medicine therapies such as aromatherapy massages, reflexology, Reikki etc. can help the patient cope with this incurable disease, but are no substitute for allopathic medicines.

There are a lot of homeopathic treatments that people have tried for Crohn's and Colitis.  I've never had the will power or persistence to continue any of them long enough to see a drastic improvement, but i do believe they work.  In my opinion, UC and Crohns are very closely linked to stress... a mind body connection.  I see a clear correlation between stress/diet/and my own symptoms.

There is a guy in northern california who has claimed to have healed himself and others with these horrible diseases through a natural raw, vegan diet.  i read his book and plan on following through with it one of these days.

i DEFINITELY recommend seeing the homeopathic doctor.  in my opinion, western medical doctors treat the symptoms, but not the root of the problem.  My experience has shown that they are less understanding, and definitely less optimistic about the fate of us IBD  patients.

There IS HOPE.  There is the possibility that she can beat it without surgery.

I would hope she does'nt need surgery so soon. I always got 12 days of bowel rest in the hospital and steroids. That works until the disese narrows the bowel.Jordan Rubans garden of life books and supliments help me alot. GOOD LUCK let us know what happens we care! And lots of prayer for her.

hi, i pray your daughter gets well without surgery.  I have Ulcerative colitis, last flare up i tried ayurvedic medicine from doctor in india.  ayurvedic medicines are made up of herbs.  this medicine took 3 months to help me but it did help.  but i hv another flare up since past few months but my medicines r over, so maybe i will go back to allopathic medicine till the time i m able to visit this doctor again in india.  i hv heard homeopathy is good and treats the disease completely, this again is very famous in india, i know i person who treated his Leucoderma with homeopathic medicine.

I have been posting in a lot of forums regarding my daughter’s condition and if we should consider homeopathy or not. I have been getting negative responses more so than positive responses about giving homeopathy a go. We decided not to go through the surgery and see Dr. Namaya in his beautiful clinic in Vermont where we stayed for two days.  I am not too fond of doctors but seeing the amount of care and attention he has given to my daughter is enough to make us go and see him again. He was very thorough and asked about everything that might lead to this disease, and he made us understand what exactly is crohn’s disease and what it can do both to the patient and his/her loved ones.

It was a learning and humbling experience for me.  Dr. Namaya prepared a diet and supplement plan for my daughter that are easy to follow and effective and my daughter did not have a flare up since we started her on the supplements  Dr. Namaya prescribed. He told us that we would see results within one-two months.  We are going to hold a telephone visit with him this week for him to check on the progress of my daughter. My daughter is coping now, thanks to Dr. Namaya of Crohn’s and IBS Wholistic Medical  Care.
