Bumps on hands after flu?

Earlier this week I had what seemed like a common flu - fever, muscle aches, sore throat, etc. But yesterday my hands and feet started breaking out in small red and sometimes white bumps.There were only a couple a first and now there's more - though not in a consistent pattern. It hurts to bend my fingers or toes. Is this just a normal after-effect of a flu?
