Slighty elavated liver enzymes tests

by robin969, Nov 07, 2008 03:25PM
I am a 28 year old female, who has a big stomach but not much fat anywhere else (263 pounds).  I got a cold over four weeks ago.  I went to my doctor and he did a whole work up on me.  All my blood work came back normal except for the AST and ALT which were 41 and 57 respectfully.  He thought it was due to my fatty liver.  He then called me back in to do more blood work.  That all came back normal except for my white blood cell count came back high.  He said it was of no concern because I was fighting something off.  Since then I have been to the hospital twice with right side pain (only when touched) on my ribs, bad cough, bad taste in mouth, bad gas, cloudy urine, tired and a yellow stool.  I don't drink. I have stopped all soda and coffee for about two months now.   I have known that I have had a fatty liver for about 3 years.  I have tried to lose the weight, but it won't come off.  I have made an appointment with a liver specialist and a dietchian.  I am just wondering what else I should.  The first hospital visit they said I had really bad heartburn, but I never felt it until last night.  When I asked him if it could be chirrosis due to my fatty liver, he said since I don't drink that would take 300 years.  The second time I went to the hospital they told me that I had bronchitis and because of coughing so much that I strained my ribs. Yesterday, I went to my doctor and he told me that I had bronchitis and strained my ribs from coughing so much. He said that my yellow stool was due to the fact that my food was going through me to fast and that it was called strawman and not to worry about it. He also said that they did a culture on my urine and everything was normal. That it was outside my vagina. This all started after I was almost done with my cold.  I have been drinking 8 oz of apple juice a day just in case of gallstones. I have ashma and my allergist gave me Protocol. Can you tell me what else I should do and what is going on? Could I have an infection?

Hi,
Since you are obese and having fatty liver, a complete evaluation for metabolic syndrome is essential which includes lipid profile, blood glucose and a few other tests.
Consult you hepatologist for complete evaluation.
