Tearing Underneath Ear Lobes (somewhat like John McCains left ear)

Hi, I've been experiencing a strange condition that when I feel stressed out I get a tearing sensation underneath my ears. The problem has been going on for almost a year and where my ears almost used to be fully connected to my head is a half inch gap that has grown undereath the lobe where the ear is supposed to connect to my head. I'm very concerend with this condition. Does this have to do with stress, age, what?
